Cosy autumn break in heritage building Positive: Fab stay here, beautiful room, kitchen and bathroom. Very comfy. Great location. Easy check-in. Had a great time. Negative: A shame the surgery downstairs wasn’t open to have a look while staying.

Lovely building in perfect village location . Positive: Perfect location, large room which was very clean . Negative: Two sides to my review, the property is marketed as luxury , which it currently isn’t as in need of some TLC, in terms of shabby paintwork and minor fixes, the entrance hallway is very uninviting and the first impression of the property. Also marks on All creatures great and small which there is little evidence of which is a shame . Part way through our stay we met the new owner of four weeks, who is very aware of all of the above and is already working to resolve the issues and it was obvious is determined to restore the property to its former glory and re introduce the sitting room and All creatures great and small feel . You could see in a few days the changes she was already making. I mentioned the lack of information re WiFi code as literally no phone signal in Askrigg and within hours there was a sign up . I wish her good look and will return in the future to see the upgrade .
